Club Peace & Plenty - Exuma

This charming and historical, colonial style 32 room inn is located in George Town Exuma on famous Elizabeth Harbour near the middle of town. The property has a Fishermen Club type atmosphere, and is a favourite local hangout. Guests enjoy a central location and complimentary access to beautiful Stocking Island just a short ferry ride away.

Stella Maris Resort - Long Island

43 individual buildings overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Units have AC, ceiling fan, small fridge, balcony or terrace. 3 fresh water pools, Bar, Lounge, boutique, dining room & garden dining terrace, game/meeting room with satellite TV. Daily complimentary activities are snorkeling, beaching, "sunfish" sailboats, shuttle to various beaches, bicycles and twice weekly full day boat cruise with snorkeling & sight seeing. Watersports such as scuba diving, PADI instructions/certification and bone, reef or deep sea fishing are at extra cost. Boat rental, rum punch parties, cave parties and other forms of entertainment are regularly organized by the hotel.

Fernandez Bay Village - Cat Island

A charming family operated resort village of 15 cottages and villas on a long private beach, present themselves to the Traveller who seeks seclusion, romance and nature on beautiful Cat Island. Facilities include a dining room, bar (honour bar), village grocery/souvenir store, library game room, children's play ground and baby-sitting available. Activities: Boat, van and bicycle rental, snorkeling, kayaking & canoeing, scuba diving (at Hawk's Nest or Greenwood Inn), water skiing, fishing, volleyball, paddle tennis. Meal plan available.

YOUR APPROXIMATE TRAVEL ITINERARY:

Day 1:

  • 2.00pm Latest arrival time in Nassau and connecting flight at 4.00pm to Georgetown Exuma.
  • After arrival in George Town there is a 15-minute transfer by taxi to the Club Peace & Plenty.
  • 2 nights stay in a poolside room.
  • Try your luck with bone fishing or deep-sea fishing and visit famous Stocking Island, across beautiful, breath taking Elizabeth Harbour. (Twice daily complimentary ferry right from the hotel dock). Visit the native bars, restaurants, shops and the market in town. Rent a car and find the beach where the pirates of the Caribbean fought their battles. At night, sit on the dock, listen to the soft waves rolling in or gaze at the millions of stars! Saturday night is the night to be here! The long established tradition of the Dinner Dance until the wee hours is well attended by the locals and visitors alike.

Day 3:

  • Return transfer to airport and a short 25-minute flight to Stella Maris, Long Island, in a 5-passenger twin engine plane, operated by Stella Maris Air Service. The ever changing colours, sand banks, reefs and the depth of the ocean are an awesome sight from this bird's eye view.
  • Once you arrive at Stella Maris Airport a taxi will take you to the hotel, which is just a 5 minute ride away.
  • At the resort you can take advantage of the great snorkelling and diving. Or rent a car to discover the hilly island with it's many natural beaches and see if you can find the other Columbus Monument. The hotel offers a variety of activities, depending on the day of the week.

Day 5:

  • Short taxi ride back to the airport approximately 15 minutes prior to your charter flight to Cat Island.
  • Approximate 25 minute flight from Long Island to The Bight Cat Island.
  • 3-minute taxi ride to Fernandez Bay Village
  • Stay in the cosy, rustic, secluded and romantic hotel on a long, private beach. Enjoy snorkeling & kayaking (free), bone fishing, off shore or bottom fishing, bicycle, boat and car rental (at extra charge). This resort invites you to relax and to wind down.

Day 7:
Transfer to the airport and Cat Island Air or Sky Unlimited flight back to Nassau. Connecting international flights should not be before 1.00pm.
BASED ON ROOM AVAILABILITY AND YOUR FLIGHT SCHEDULE, THE TRIP CAN BE CHANGED AROUND.

USEFUL INFORMATION:
Maximum luggage allowance is 45 pounds. We suggest using soft bags, rather than hard suitcases; they fit better in the small planes. Travel light with casual clothing. Take sun protection items. If you are on medication, take a sufficient supply with you, as you may not get your specific prescritpion in these remote islands. There are no or few commercial banks in these islands, so take sufficient cash, Traveler's cecks or a major credit card with you.
You will receive a personal itinerary with a telephone number in Nassau, which you can call during and after office hours in case of problems or emergencies.

PAYMENT POLICY:
A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 per person is due at time of booking. Full prepayment is due 45 days prior to arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations received 32 days prior to arrival date will result only in the loss of the deposit. In addition, cancellations received within 31 days prior to arrival or no shows will result in a cancellation penalty determined by the hotels/airlines at the time of cancellation.

This trip is not available from Sept 01 - December 06/2009, as some or all of the hotels are closed during these months for renovations. If you are interested in an itinerary similar to this between October and December we can offer alternatives.
