LOCATION:

The visually dominating Royal Towers on Paradise Island is the largest and newest of the three towers at the Atlantis Resort. The Royal Towers opened in 1998 and features 1200 rooms, a variety of restaurants and attractions all with original décor, featuring unique murals, sculptures and fountains.

Amongst the many facilities and attractions available to guests staying at any of the three towers at the Atlantis, the Royal Towers feature:

PROPERTY AMENITIES:

Featuring a cool interior of white marble, sisal rugs, Balinese artifacts, and aqua acrylics, the 11,500-square-foot Asian-theme Mandara Spa includes a unisex rain shower, steam room, and sauna; men's and women's relaxation lounges; and a 30-foot-diameter heated, jetted, saltwater Thalassotherapy pool surrounded by cushioned lounge chairs in an open-air pavilion. A 9,000-square-foot Fitness center (fees charged) contains cardio equipment, weight-training machines, free weights, and steam rooms and offers classes such as aerobics, yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing as well as personal trainers.

The 50,000-square-foot Casino features four large Dale Chihuly glass sculptures and includes a race-and-sports book in addition to table games (baccarat, roulette, craps, blackjack, and Caribbean poker) and slot and video-poker machines. A high-limit area contains Baccarat Lounge, which features champagnes, caviar, and chilled seafood. Opening into the casino is Dragons Nightclub, site of nightly live dance music and highlighted by a black-granite bar and video wall.

The Discovery Channel Camp™ offers half-day, full-day, and night sessions (fees charged) for children age 4-12. This program features history lessons, a technology lab with Internet access, image scanners & poster machines. Your children will also have the opportunity to make a variety of arts & crafts during their time at the Discover Channel Camp™. The Science Outpost: features live animal touch tanks, aquariums and specimen collections of fossils, bones, animals and plants. Studies of these specimens can be made using high-powered microscopes. Expeditions around the Atlantis' waterscape, home to over 50'000 sea animals including sharks, piranha, stingrays and sawfish. Your kids can watch fish feedings, or watch the on-goings in the fish hospital. The program also features guided tours through the marine habitats within The Dig, The Great Hall of Waters, The Predator Lagoon and the Seagrapes Lagoon.

Open to teens age 13-17, Club Rush (Beach Tower) (cover charge) consists of a front room equipped with computer games and Internet-access computers and showing DVD movies, and a back room offering a dance floor and DJ music. (Pre-teens age 7-12 have the club from 4:30 PM to 7 PM.)

Five waterslides are built into the six-story Mayan Temple. Chief among them is The Leap of Faith, a 60-foot, nearly vertical plunge that ends by carrying daredevils through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon. Also popular is a 48-foot corkscrew slide transporting tube riders through the Temple's dark core. Shorter, gentler children's slides connect the Temple's many cascading pools.

Atlantis offers 10 freshwater swimming areas and Paradise Lagoon, a 7-acre saltwater swimming, snorkeling, and water-sports area with direct access to the open ocean and beaches on both sides.

In addition to 11 lagoons (lighted at night) constituting the world's largest tropical marine habitat that are home to 50,000 fish and sea creatures visible by day and night from above and underwater, the resort offers many specialized exhibits, including turtles, seahorses, jellyfish, lobsters, crabs, lionfish, piranhas, and 6-foot moray eels. Children enjoy a touch-tank filled with exotic creatures.

Golf: Reopened in Spring 2001 was the new Paradise Island Golf Course, designed by internationally recognized professional golfer & course designer Tom Weiskopf.
There is a new 12,000-square foot clubhouse, which features a restaurant & lounge. The 18-hole, par 72-championship course features 10 four, four three, and four five-par holes. The course length is approximately 7,100 yards.

Shopping: The Atlantis offers a variety of shops featuring Italian & French fashions, Cuban Cigars, beach attire, children's clothing & toys, jewellery and many other items. Amongst the stores you will find in the Atlantis are: Amici, Atlantis Logo Store, Atlantis Sport Int'l, Bahamacraft center (not on property), Birds of Paradise, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Cole's of Nassau, Colombian Emeralds Int'l, Coral Reef Liquors, Façonnable, Gucci, Havana Humidor, Island Gear, John Bull, Kabana, Kodak Imaging Center, Lalique, La Perfumerie, Mademoiselle, Salvatore Ferragame, Solomon's Mines, Sundries Stores, and Versace.

Marina Village At Atlantis The recently opened Marina Village at Atlantis, Paradise Island (July 2005) is an open-air marketplace with three main plazas that are designed to resemble a "quaint" Bahamian settlement. The 65'000 square foot development, situated at the eastern end of the existing Marina at Atlantis, features five unique restaurants, 21 retails outlets, local entertainment and a collection of carts that showcase the artistry of The Bahamas. The charming and vibrant bazaar provides visitors with an unforgettable and distinctly Bahamian vacation experience.
Restaurants include; Café Martinique, featuring the gourmet cuisine of French chef Jean Georges Vongerichten; Bimini Road, which features Caribbean dishes and live entertainment against a brightly-coloured backdrop; Carmine's Italian restaurant, a popular New York eatery known for its Italian dishes; Seafire Steakhouse, featuring seared and grilled fare; and Johnny Rockets, a hamburger chain that serves some 22 million hamburgers per year to its patrons worldwide, make up the many dining possibilities at the Marina Village.

In addition to the remarkable dining options available at Marina Village, visitors can explore a shopper's paradise, with 21 boutiques and shops featuring luxury fashion, sports and beachwear, and beautiful handmade crafts from local Bahamian artisans.
These include The Versace Collection; Dooney & Bourke; Royal Palm, offering the latest styles from Tommy Bahama; the Caribbean's first Starbuck's and Jamba Juice; Paradise Blue Surf Shop, casual beachwear and accessories; The Plait Lady, Bahamian handicrafts, A La Plage French Boutique, upscale French swimwear; Columbian Emeralds International, fine jewelry; Doongalik, artwork and original sculpture; Piranha Joe, casual wear; Calypso Carousel, music boxes; Solomon's Sea Treasures, charms and nautical jewelry; La Perfumerie, perfumes from around the world; Sunglass Shack; Park Lane Jewelers; and more.
Visitors can be refreshed at the Village Creamery (ice cream parlour) after they've experienced Jamba Juice, a franchise that specializes in fresh fruit smoothies, hot vegetable soups and nutritious breads.
The Marina Village at Atlantis' three main plazas are each defined by unique architecture, paving stones, boldly painted buildings and lush vegetation. An assortment of retail carts in each section features merchandise reflective of the life and energy of the islands.
The carts featured in the plazas also include Crystallix, known for its crystal wares; Completely Nuts; Heymon Graphics, Bahamian prints and handicrafts; and Glorybee, selling local honey.

ROOM DESCRIPTION:

Designed to evoke an image of a grand palace on the mythical Lost Continent of Atlantis, Royal Towers offers 1,201 air-conditioned guestrooms in two salmon-colored wings topped by spires colored like weathered bronze and connected at the ground-floor level. The East Wing rises in three steps of 12, and 24 stories. The West Wing rises in steps of 16 and 20 stories. Called Great Hall of Waters, the massive and fanciful lobby features a three-story dome ceiling, intricately carved columns, and vividly colored frescos of Atlanteans' imagined life.
Royal Towers rooms are larger than those at the other two Atlantis towers, Coral Towers and Beach Tower. (Unlike those towers, however, Royal Towers rooms provide step-out rather than full balconies.) Tropical décor features sand-colored walls, crown molding, and carved, light-colored furniture.
Matching bedspreads and drapes display a coral motif in blue, green, and orange. There are two telephones, including one in the bathroom.

Imperial Club rooms are located on the 17th to 24th (top) floors. Guests enjoy access to a private 19th-floor lounge staffed by a concierge between 7 AM and 11 PM. Furnished with a television and dining tables, the lounge provides panoramic ocean views. Guests enjoy the finest VIP treatment, including upgraded concierge service and amenities such as daily newspapers and magazines. Guests enjoy secured facilities and private access via high-spped elevators. Imperial Club guests also enjoy the exclusive use of the Club Lounge, which features a library and offers food presentations throughout the day.
