ACTIVITIES:
Clear pristine waters that are home to an abundance of marine life, which include shellfish as well as deep and shallow water sportfish, surround the island. Our unspoiled reefs that are lively and colorful have and continue to capture the attention of both avid as well as casual divers.
In walking distance from the resort you can stalk the prized twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) pounder that will give the passionate bonefisher the thrill of their life. Just a short distance away is the habitat and feeding ground of our National Bird the Flamingo, who will accompany those with a love for nature for the entire day.
For those that just prefer a simpler experience with nature, our miles of secluded and unblemished beaches are available just for your relaxing pleasure, and to ensure that you get and remain in touch with yourself...
HELPFUL HINTS:
- Scuba diving is available at a cost of $40.00 one tank dive, or $70.00 two tank dive. Tanks and weights are available, but it is recommended that you bring your own gear! Bonefishing with a local guide is $160.00 and includes guide and transportation. Additionally cars, bicycles, canoes and boats are availale for rent.
- Guests travelling to Mayaguana should bring cash as credit cards are not readily accepted and the island has no bank. Baycaner Resort does accept Visa and Mastercard at a surcharge of 6%.
