Port Lucaya Resort & Yacht Club is comprised of 10 distinctively colored two-story buildings that encircle a garden area & an Olympic size pool. Adjacent is a multi-million dollar marina, the Port Lucaya Market Place with nearly one hundred shops, boutiques and restaurants. The beach is a short walk across the street, as well as UNEXSO, the famous Dolphin excursion operators.

LOCATION:Grand Bahama Island is located 52 miles east of Palm Beach, Florida. The Island is 96 miles long and 17 miles across at its widest point. The Port Lucaya Resort & Yacht Club is located in the heart of the Lucaya hotel district, across the road from the Our Lucaya Resort & The Isle of Capri Casino. Adjacent to the Port Lucaya Resort & Yacht Club is the Port Lucaya Market Place with over 80 shops, bars and restaurants.
RESORT FEATURES:
The Port Lucaya Resort & Yacht Club is comprised of 10 distinctively colored two-story buildings that encircle a beautiful garden area and an Olympic size swimming pool. The resort is built on an inland waterway and boat docks for guests of the resort encompass most of the property.
You'll enjoy delicious on-site dining at the Tradewinds Café and take pleasure in the famous all-you-can-eat buffet. Or order à-la-carte items from the menu. The Tradewinds Café is open for breakfast and dinner daily (on a seasonal basis).
The surrounding Port Lucaya Marina can accommodate boats of up to 170 feet with complete yacht facilities including water, electricity, cable T.V. and telephone.
First floor guestrooms have a private Patio overlooking garden and/or pool area. Second floor rooms have balconies that overlook a multi-million dollar marina.
ROOM FEATURES:
There are 160 spacious guestrooms, decorated in tropical motif, sporting hand-rubbed rattan furnishings set on handcrafted tile floors. All rooms have cable TV, Telephone and air-conditioning. Some rooms have coffee-pot, iron-ironing boards & blow dryers. Rooms that are not equipped with this can obtain it from the housekeeping department. All rooms have 2 double beds or 1 king-size bed. A mini fridge is available for rent at a nominal charge.
WHAT-TO-DO:
- The pristine stretch of the Lucayan Beach is located directly across the street from the hotel and is just a 4 minute walk to the beach and crystal clear turquoise waters of Grand Bahama.
- Located in the heart of the Lucaya resort area is the Port Lucaya Marketplace which includes over 80 shops, restaurants, and pubs. Located right on the Lucayan Marina, the Marketplace has meandering cobblestone passageways lined with colorful vendors, handmade crafts, native straw work, as well as an enormous selection of duty-free items such as emerald and gold jewelry, crystal, fine china, perfumes, watches, and liquors.
After sunset, everyone gathers & comes to life with native music and a variety of entertainment at the famous Count Basie Square, located in the center of the Marketplace area. - The newest casino in the Bahamas, the 20,000 square foot Isle of Capri casino is directly across the street from Port Lucaya Resort
- Swim with the dolphins or snorkel through the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Divers can enjoy lively reefs and shipwrecks or stop by the nearby UNEXSO center (Underwater Explorers Society) for special packages like the world-famous "Shark dive".
- The warm tropical waters surrounding the island are home to some of the best game fish on Earth. Among the well honored fighters lurking offshore are white and blue marlin, yellowfin and bluefin tuna, barracuda, king fish, wahoo, bonito, dolphin and one of the world's best game fish - the bonefish. There's great fishing during the winter months but the best time to go fishing in The Bahamas is between April and September.
