LOCATION:Located on the South-eastern tip of Cat Island this remote paradise is set amidst an atmosphere of tranquillity and style on an incredible 8-mile stretch of white sand beach. Bask in total solitude and unwind while you appreciate The Bahamas they way they used to be. Forget about the outside world - find yourself and be yourself. Scuba dive or snorkel on pristine coral reefs, or laze in a hammock in the afternoon breeze under swaying palm trees. Relax with your evening cocktail at the freshwater pool, and be prepared for a tasty surprise in the cosy dining-room. To get here clients fly into The Bight Airport and an approximate 30-minute taxi ride to the resort.

This small property is operated by a German family and offers 20 comfortable rooms, with king-size bed, private bath, small patio cooled by sea breezes, ceiling fan and some with AC.

Amenities: Club House & bar for all your fine dining (indoor & outdoor), an incomparable 8-mile long white sand beach at your door-step, fresh water swimming pool, Cat Island Dive Centre offering PADI certification. Complimentary use of bicycles to explore the vicinity, game room/lounge featuring satellite TV, pool table and various board games, small laid back library with a limited selection of books.
The resort offers guests the possibility to rent snorkelling and dive equipment. For the beginner or independent snorkeller, there is an abundance of pristine coral reefs easily accessible directly from the beach in front of your hotel. Additionally snorkel trips can also be arranged at a rate of $25.00/person (minimum of 2) for a half day trip.
The Cat Island Dive Centre located on property, offers guests the opportunity to explore some of the most remote dive spots in The Bahamas. Additionally PADI certification courses are offered at the resort as well as Resort Courses, for those who just want a sample of what the fantastic underwater world has to offer. There are unlimited wall diving sites along the Southern Coast of Cat Island alone, as well as a variety of interesting wreck dives.
HELPFUL HINTS:
- There are no commercial banks on Cat Island. For your convenience, the resort accepts, cash, traveller's checks and major credit cards for payment.
- There are daily scheduled flights into The Bight Cat Island with either Bahamasair or Cat Island Air.
- Also Continental Airlines has recently introduced direct flights into The Bight Airport from the U.S. Mainland.http://www.continental.com. Additionally Lynx Air offers direct service from Fort Lauderdale.
- The transfer time to Greenwood Beach Resort from The Bight is approximately 30 minutes, and costs approximately $40.00 each way.
- Children under 12 years stay free in same accommodation as parents with the existing bedding.
- Mealplans are available at the resort with special rates for children.
