Western Air is a 100% Bahamian owned company based at the San Andros Airport. Their current fleet consists of 5 Fairchild Metro III, 19 seater aircraft. Western Air is a fully licensed and insured charter company currently operating daily charter flights between Nassau, Andros, Bimini, Freeport, Marsh Harbour and Exuma.

Baggage Information and General Policy

• Passengers must check-in with a Western Air representative at least 90 minutes prior to departure. Flights will close 30 minutes before departure.
• Each passenger is allowed 40lbs of baggage. Baggage in excess of 40lbs will be subject to a charge of $1.00 per pound up to 100lbs. Excess baggage not accompanied with passengers will be sent on the next available flight.
• Kids ticket non-refundable, price valid for 3 months, ticket valid for 1 year with $20.00 penalty after 3 months from date of purchase.
• Kids must present ID or agent must use discretion to determine kids ages.
• Student ticket nonrefundable, price valid for 1 month, ticket valid for 1 year with $20.00 penalty after 1 month from date of purchase.
• Excess baggage must be paid in cash at time of check-in
• Excess baggage cannot be sent C.O.D.
• Baggage over 100lbs. will be shipped as cargo.
• Liability for loss, damage, or delay in delivery of passenger-checked baggage shall be limited to proven value of the property, not to exceed $10.00 per lb. per passenger and not to exceed $250.00 in value.
• Western Air accepts no liability for any unchecked baggage including carryon articles.
• Money, negotiable paper, securities, vital medicine, jewelry, silverware, precious metal, sporting goods, camera lens and other similar valuables, will not be accept as checked baggage and Western Air will not be liable for damages resulting from the theft, loss, damage or delay of such valuables which are included in the passengers checked baggage.
• All medicines must be hand carried by the passenger. Western Air assumes no liability for medical complications and/or expenses resulting in such medicines being included in checked baggage.
• Western Air will accept cloth, canvas, vinyl, etc. (generally any soft-sided luggage) as checked baggage but accepts no liability due to damage of this type of luggage.
• Western Air does not provide for or make available provisions for passenger to declare a higher valuation on checked baggage above the legal limits stated. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the passenger to obtain, prior to departure, additional insurance coverage. Such coverage can usually be obtained through travel agents, tour operators or independent insurance agents.
