LOCATION:

Small Hope Bay Lodge is located in Fresh Creek Andros approximately 5 miles away from Andros Town Airport (ASD), which is the nearest port of entry. This informal property emphasizes a friendly home-like atmosphere, where bare feet and T-shirts are the norm.

RESORT AMENITIES:

This all-inclusive resort has several packages for vacationers, scuba divers, snorkelers, wedding couples and honeymooners. Rates include:

The central lodge features a dining area, lounge/bar, games rooms and reading room. There is also a small boutique on the premises, a separate building for office administration and guest services and a staffed laundry facility.

ROOM FEATURES:

The 21 beachfront casual style cottages are individually hand-built out of local rock and Andros Pine. The rooms feature overhead ceiling fans, locally made furniture decorated in Androsia Batik fabrics, and all with a view of the sea. Each has private toilet/shower facilities, and are fully tiled. King-size beds and single beds are available. There are four two-bedroom cottages for families, as well as a special "honeymoon cottage." All are shaded by palms and located on the Bay. To the north of the cottages is a separate swimming beach. No telephones and TV's in the room.  Air Condition available in half the cottages and a $15 per night energy surcharge applies. Request AC cottage upon booking.

WHAT-TO-DO:

Small Hope Bay Lodge in an eco-friendly resort renowned for its diving and bonefishing. Immediately off the coast of Andros is the 142-mile long Andros Barrier Reef, the third largest in the world. Dive sites include coral gardens and caverns, wreck dives, ocean blue holes, and wall dives.

Dive package includes: 3 dives daily plus use of tanks/ weight belt. BCD $8, Regulator $4, Wet Suit $4 per boat trip. One night dive is included in a weekly dive package, night dives are offered twice weekly (6 divers min.)-one Dive Master in the Water for all divers.

Snorkeling package includes: All-inclusive package inclusions, plus daily morning boat trip to reef. Snorkeling Equipment (mask/snorkel/fins) rental is $12 per person per stay.

Optional Diving Activities: Shark Observation Dive $85.00, Custom-tailored Specialty Dives $175.00 (one diver with the dive master, for experienced divers only, computer diving, deep and cave diving, advanced booking recommended).  Open Water certification is $250.00 per person (fees do not include required dives or equipment rental), Open Water Refferal and Advanced Certification also available.

Fishing: Andros Island, with its hundreds of miles of inland flats, has long been recognized for its world-class bonefishing. Small Hope Bay Lodge has its own 16-foot Maverick. Bone Fishing half day $290.00 (full day $425.00). Rates include: Local guide, boat, gear (Advise in advance if fly caster or spin caster), and up to 2 people in the boat.Reef fishing and deep sea fishing trips (for up to four people per boat plus guide) are also available.
Reef fishing $290.00 for half day ($450.00 for full day).  Fish for grouper, snapper, trigger, mackeral. Deep sea fishing is $400.00 for half day ($550.00 full day).  Fish for kingfish, wahoo, barracuda, yellow fin tuna and dolphin. Packed lunch included for all full day trips.

Fresh Creek Safari $45.00 for adults and $25.00 for children 8yrs and under

Shark Observation Snorkel: $45.00 per person (adults) and individual snorkel trips are $35.00.

Touring Northern Andros: Half day guided island tours can be arranged through the resort.  Renting a car for 1 day will cost approximately $85.00. You can drive to the Androsia Factory in Fresh Creek near the Lighthouse Yacht Club & Marina, and see first-hand how these delightful fabrics are dyed into truly Bahamian colors and designs. Next door is the Androsia Gift Shop. Next you can look for Captain Bill's Blue Hole.  Don't miss a "Leap Of Faith" into dark abyss. Take a drive further north, a take a float in Stafford Creek. If you get thirsty go across the bridge to the "Love At First Sight" restaurant and bar. Far to the North, about 50-minutes by car and the only settlement on the Western Side of Andros is Red Bay, an old Seminole Indian settlement, whose inhabitants are now most fishermen and spongers. Here if you're lucky you may find "Henry" an acclaimed wood carver whose artful sculptures made of local hard-woods have been showcased in many an exhibit in the U.S.

HELPFUL HINTS:

 Children and Teen prices only apply with 2 full paying adults in the same unit. Children's Dinner Policy- This is a firm policy for children 7yrs and under.  Kids eat evening meals at Kids Table in Games room from 6pm-8:45pm nightly.  COMPLIMENTARY babysitting for kids 2-7 yrs. Kids under 2 years, nomial fee applies.
LeAir offers twice daily service from Nassau to Andros Town.  Continental Airlines/Gulfstream also recently introduced a direct flight (Tues & Sat) from Florida directly to Andros Town Airport (ASD).
This property is for the more informal traveler interested in excellent diving, bone fishing, reef and deep-sea fishing. Guests can enjoy the use of wind surfing, laser sailboats, kayaks, hot tub, bicycles, free introductory scuba or snorkel lesson and self-guided nature walks included in their hotel rate. Breakfast, lunch & dinner, bar and beverages & nightly conch-fritter hors d'oeuvres also included!
