Bahamasair, the National Flag Carrier of the Bahamas operates scheduled flights throughout the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and a a variety of destinations throughout the US using a fleet of DeHavilland Dash 8 aircraft and Boeing 737 jets.

Baggage Information and General Policy

• International Bags: 2 bags per passenger 60 lbs (27kgs) per bag. The first bag is free, the second bag is $20.00. Bags are restricted to 62" in circumference.
• Passengers that are connecting to the Out Islands or staying less than 24 hrs in Nassau or Freeport are still considered International, thus are allowed the international baggage allowance.
• Domestic Bags: Passengers that stay more than 24 hrs then take a domestic flight are only allowed 2 bags at 44 lbs. combined total with a total circumference less than 62".
• Excess bag more than the allowed 2 pieces: $100.00 each International and $50.00 Domestic.
• Oversize pieces greater than 62 ": $100.00 each International or $65.00 domestic.
• Overweight pieces greater than 60 lbs. (27kgs.): $100.00 each International or $65.00 each domestic.
• Oversize and overweight pieces: $125.00 each
• For divers, if they are bringing tanks they must remove the stem and the charge would be $25.00 per tank.

Reservation Policy:

• Reservations can be held up to 22 days prior to departure and can be changed or cancelled without penalty.
• Once issued, V class E-tickets are non-refundable, non-endorsable and non-transferable. Changes to ticketed itinerary or passenger name is subject to a $60.00 penalty per ticket.
• Ticketed passengers traveling with infants under 2 years of age are only responsible for applicable taxes of $10.10 payable at check in counter. For domestic flights there is no charge for infants.
• Bahamasair Europe is not responsible for missed connections with other airlines. Please allow a minimum of two hours for international connections and 90-minutes for domestic.
