LOCATION:This casual hideaway is situated on a bluff on Green Turtle Cay a small island with a relaxed population of about 450. The property has views of White Sound on one side and the Sea of Abaco on the other and is approximately 15 minutes by golf cart from the town of New Plymouth.
ROOM AMENITIES:Standard rooms have queen bed, shower, and toilet and deck area, overlooking the small beach.
The Split-level Suites have a king sized bed and bathroom with shower upstairs and a living area downstairs with a pull-out couch and deck overlooking the sea on the lower level. The units are air-conditioned and have a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and hair dryers.
The Deluxe rooms are spacious and feature a king size bed, and a sitting area, bathroom has a bath tub, private deck with view of the sea. This room type can accommodate 2 adults.
Luxury Upper Suites are spacious rooms with cathedral ceilings and French doors that lead out on to a private deck with breathtaking views of the Sea of Abaco. The room has a king sized bed, sitting area with sofa bed and a full size bathroom with a bath tub.
One Bedroom Villa These spacious villas have a bedroom with either a king or a queen size bed, bathroom with a shower, living area with a sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The villas have a deck with views of the sea.
Two Bedroom Villa These are 2 units with the main unit having a bedroom with either a king or queen size bed, bathroom, living area with a sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The adjoining unit has a bedroom with either a king or queen size bed and a bathroom . There is a large deck with views of the sea.
2-Bedroom Marina Villa These luxurious villas have 2 bedrooms each with a king size bed and bathroom en-suite and a large open shower, living area with a sofa bed,powder room, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with dish washer and ice maker. There is a large screened in porch with views of the marina and White Sound Harbour.
3-bedroom Yachtsman's Cottages The newest addition to the Bluff House accommodations, the first one was rented in May of 2004. 3 are available for rent now and there will be 3 more begining in November 2004. 3 bedrooms with the master bedroom taking up the entire second floor of the Cottage with a king size bed room and bathroom and a beautiful balcony with lovely views of the White Sound Harbour and further onto the Atlantic Ocean. These units are perfect for families or for 3 couples that would share the kitchen, dining, and living areas along with the private jacuzzi that is on the front deck!
HOTEL FEATURES: Fresh water swimming pool, 45 slip - marina with gas dock, tennis, Club House for all meals, Boutique and Gift Shop. A second restaurant located near the Marina in White Sound.
The hotel offers complimentary trips to the village three mornings per week. The hotel has its own small beach with hammocks, and a number of other beaches including Coco Bay and the Ocean Beach are within a short ride of the hotel. Golf cart rental is available at the hotel.
Diving and fishing enthusiasts will also enjoy Green Turtle Cay. Brendal's Dive Shop offers a variety of dive sites, scuba instruction and certification as well as various family excursions.
GETTING THERE:Guests have the option of flying into Treasure Cay Airport or Marsh Harbour Airport either directly from the U.S. or from Nassau on Bahamasair or Southern Air which offer 5 times weekly service to Treasure Cay or up to 3 times daily flights into Marsh Harbour Airport. Treasure Cay is the closer of the two airports, however Marsh Harbour (approximately 35-minutes from the Treasure Cay Ferry Dock), offers more flexibility. (Private Charters are another option for groups of around 4 or 5 people). From Treasure Cay Airport there is a short cab ride to the ferry dock, ($3.00/person each way) followed by the roughly 10-20 minute ferry ride to the dock at Bluff House. The ferry is $8.00/person.Please note: as with most Out Islands, Treasure Cay does not have airport lighting to facilitate night landings, and therefore an overnight in Nassau may be required if a suitable connection is not available.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Boat rentals are available on Green Turtle Cay at a cost of around $80.00 - $150.00/day. Bone fishing enthusiasts, can contact Ronnie Sawyer, and Brendal's Dive Shop located next to the Green Turtle Club offers a variety of interesting dives and day excursions.
