Part of Squires Estate; a collection of six immaculately restored Nineteenth century houses on an idyllic hillside set above Governor's Harbour covering two separate properties, is The Cottage at Belmont, a free standing cottage which is part of the Bahamian Heritage of Historical Buildings. The six properties which make up Squires Estate recreate life in the old style Bahamian tradition but with all the modern amenities.

The cottage is one of 3 houses which make up the Belmont House located in a one acre compound located on the top of Buccaneer Hill a couple of minutes walk from town and five from probably the most beautiful beach in Eleuthera, French Leave Beach (ex. Club Med beach).

RESORT FEATURES:

The Cottage at Belmont can be rented separately or as part of the complete 3 building Belmont Estate.

The buildings can generally be described as a New England (Colonial) Style with walls constructed in quarried limestone, cedar shingled roof, oak wood flooring, high ceilings and exposed framing on both the main and loft levels. Both the windows and doors are adorned with working colonial frames and shutters. The porch and terrace provide dramatic views of the harbour offering the perfect compliment to the well manicured grounds and this beautiful home.

ROOM FEATURES:

The Cottage which consists of one master bedroom (king size mattress), en-suite bathroom with extra large shower. Amenities include indoor living area with minibar, flat screen TV, air conditioning, ceiling fan, wireless internet and cordless telephone. There is also a separate outdoor patio with sea view.

WHAT-TO-DO:

The main activities are relaxing and beaching!
Friday night is the fish fry party in Governor's Harbour where Bahamians visitors alike meet to enjoy Bahamian Cuisine and live music.
Rent a car and explore different beaches of Eleuthera, Harbour Island, Spanish Wells, Glass Window Bridge, Oceans Hole in rock Sound, Preachers Cave in the North and the historic Haynes Library.

HELPFUL HINTS:

Bahamasair offers twice to 3 times daily service from Nassau, and Southern Air offers service 3 times daily from Nassau. Private charters can be arranged costing approximately $450.00 for a 5-seater during regular flying hours. (9 a.m. to 5.00p.m.)
Governor's Harbour can also be reached twice weekly from Nassau on the Bahamas Fast Ferry, which provides a comfortable alternative to flying.
