LOCATION:

Just off the coast of Andros at Staniard Creek Settlement. The Cay has 3 miles of white sand beach and is completely private. Just 20 minutes by road from Andros Town International Airport at Fresh Creek and a short 2 min. ferry ride, an donlye 1 hour from Florida East Coast, or 15 minute flight from Nassau.
 

RESORT AMENITIES:

Kamalame Cay, with just 17 rooms & suites, small and exclusive, still allows you to select from a range of exquisite accommodations. There are complete villa suites and smaller intimate cottage suites all with large bathrooms, over sized soaking tubs/showers and sparkling ocean views from all the baths. Each of these suites is totally private, secluded under its own open cedar-shingled roof, with its own seaside garden around it. Miles of exclusive beach directly in front of each suite beckon the beachcomber.

 

• The Great House: The Great House on the Cay serves as a perfect place to rendezvous for meals, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and tales of the day's adventures. This gathering place, with its inviting wrap-around veranda, is tastefully decorated with art, antiques, and a collection of Bahamian furnishings including comfortable over sized furniture. Enjoy our Great House, built in 19th century British tradition, and relax with a glass of wine while drinking in the tranquilizing panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea.
  Meals at Kamalame are always a special event. The menu features gourmet Caribbean cuisine incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and other local delicacies. These candle-lit meals are carefully prepared and elegantly presented by Kamalame's attentive staff. After dinner, gently-aged rum, cognac and vintage port help encourage good conversation and dramatic star gazing from the beach. Breakfasts are served made-to-order with freshly squeezed juices, home-baked Bahamian bread and other delights. Lunches in the Great House will include refreshing salads, tropical fruit, delicious seafood and tempting deserts. Generous box lunches will help complete a perfect day on the water or a private picnic on the beach. Breakfast is served from 6.30am onward, lunch from 12.00n onwards and dinner around 7.30pm
• Tiki Bar: The Tiki Bar is a wonderful spot to base your beach, pool or evening activities. With its fully-stocked bar and captivating island music, you will be lured into the thatch-roofed hut and inspired to relax. 
  Elements permitting, we occasionally host a Tiki-torch, candle-lit Bahamian beach banquet and BBQ. Our buffet is laden with delicious surf-and-turf selections accompanied by the local island twist on traditional dishes. These nights also feature a live "rake & scrape" band that plays infectious island melodies.
• Swimming Pool: Adjacent to the beach and encircled with majestic Silver Coconut Palms and expansive seagrape trees, Kamalame Cay's freshwater swimming pool is perfect for a day of sunning and refreshing dips. With comfortable lounge chairs, fluffy beach towels, spectacular ocean views and beverages at hand in the adjoining Tiki Bar; days spent by the pool at Kamalame will be memorable.
• The Marina: The Kamalame marina has eight 22-ft by 50-ft slips and one large slip at the end of the T-pier all of which have 8-ft depth at low water. The channel at the creek entrance is marked and has a 5.5-ft depth at high tide and 2-ft at low tide. There is also a channel marker to the north of Staniard Rock to guide passage through the barrier reef.
• The Tennis Court: Kamalame has a regulation tennis court that overlooks the ocean, so bring your own racket or borrow one of ours to get some exercise and keep your swing in tune. If you need a playing partner, our chef happens to be a tennis instructor.

ROOM FEATURES:

Kamalame Cay offers luxury accommodations in a variety of rooms types including:

• 2 ANGLERS NEST ROOMS:  (SS Minnow & Ra)  - 1 unit of 2 rooms each, Anglers Nests are smaller and overlook our 8 slip Marina. They have a small trellised porch area and a walk-in shower with no tub.
• 6 BEACH SUITES: Our Beach Suites consist of a single large room enhanced by a comfortable seating area. Each one has its own private entrance with a connecting door (lockable from both sides) allowing access to the adjoining room - perfect for families or groups of friends.These beautifully furnished rooms come complete with a fully stocked wet bar, Roman soaking tub, ocean views, and a covered veranda. As with all of our beach accommodations, breathtaking views and cooling sea breezes are a highlight. These are ONE room of the possible suites of Mahogany & Driftwood.  Each room has an adjoining door, wich can be locked from both sides. There is a possibility that Guests may have the room next to them occupied. Golf cart provided.
• 5 Individual COTTAGE SUITES: Our beach side octagonal cottage suites (Casuarina, Cocoplum, Wild Dilly and Sapodilla North & South) all feature a large bedroom with muslin curtains, French doors encompassing three sides that open to reveal your own expansive ocean view. Designed for absolute privacy, these suites are perfect for comfort and seclusion. Laze in a comfortable lounge chair and watch the pristine ocean surf caress our shores. Golf cart provided.
• 1 VILLA SUITES: 1-Bedroom - Pigeon Plum is our premium vfery spacious 1-bedroom villa suite on the beach that includes a separate cozy sitting room, a large wet bar, a Roman soaking tub with shower, a spacious living room, a kitchenette and a wrap-around covered veranda that overlooks the beach. Pigeon Plum is the perfect honeymoon villa that also works well for a small family. Golf cart provided.
• 2 VILLA SUITES: 2-Bedroom - Driftwood & Mahogany are our finest 2-bedroom beachfront villa suites. They have large central living rooms, three full baths with soaking tubs, wet bars and kitchenettes. Elegantly furnished and decorated in Old-World charm, these villas are ideal for families or two couples.Golf cart provided.
• 1 VILLA SUITE: 3-Bedroom - Silver Top is a distinctive 3-bedroom thatched-roof villa perched on the highest point of the Cay. Marvelous views of the glistening ocean unfold over the beach adjacent to the villa while the tidal waters from Blanket Sound provide a calming soundtrack in your secluded hideaway. Native stone has been used in each bedroom adding warmth while natural pine tree trunks serve as support columns for the four pavilions that comprise Silver Top.
  Each ocean side room is surrounded by large verandas, while a separate patio affords the perfect vantage point for enjoying the stunning Bahamian sunsets. A second large back patio deck is the perfect spot for a light meal or to enjoy the Caribbean nights. The creek side room offers a large soaking bathtub with expansive sea views. • One 4-6 BEDROOMED VILLA SUITE - COCOANUT: The two-level, 6000-square foot Cocoanut is the island's largest villa and sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 Suites, while offering an additional two bedrooms for support staff or children. Its vast great room offers panormaic ocean views and is lined in French doors that open onto a wide, wrap veranda on three sides. The open plan living -dining room, offset with a full kitchen and free standing wet bar is accentuated by thoughtful interior accents and hand carved South Asian furnishings. 
  Two of the four suites - each with an en suite bath with a soaker tub- are connected to the great room. The remaining two, also located on the villa's upper level, are connected as private wings via sweeping verandas.
• KAMALAME COVE: A Private 4-Bedroom Villa nestled between romantic Silver Palm-fringed coves elevated above a rocky bluff and looking out on the pristine turquoise waters of the Caribbean is Kamalame Cove. With three spectacular ocean vantage points, this nearly 7,500-square foot private peninsular villa sits on four secluded acres attached to the mainland of Andros Island by a narrow strip of beach. 
  The Cove features a massive open-air Great Room that overlooks the sea on three sides. With a separate wing of four elegantly appointed bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, this private island retreat that is the Cove gracefully caters to 8 guests and affords the utmost in seclusion.

Guests at Kamalame can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the vast unspoiled waters and islands near Kamalame Cay. Amongst the many activities available, guests can enjoy:

• Scuba Diving: The third longest barrier reef in the world is just a mile from Kamalame's shores offering divers and snorkelers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the warm Caribbean waters while experiencing an exceptional underwater adventure. Our new fully-staffed PADI/TDI center situated on the Marina dock offers effortless diving. Let our experienced and friendly instructors guide you around the 30+ beautiful dive sites close by. All levels of PADI certification including resort courses are offered. Experienced divers will revel in the 100-foot visibility and amazingly diverse marine life.
• Snorkeling: Snorkel and explore on your own or let our experienced guides show you their favorite sites. We have all the equipment you'll need and we will even pack a delicious picnic lunch. Don't miss the chance to experience the breathtaking underwater world of Andros Island - it's just outside your villa's front door! An activity people of all ages can enjoy. Snorkel trips, picninc excursions and boating trips can easily be arranged.
• Eco Tours: Andros Island is the largest yet one of the least known of the 700 islands in the Bahamas archipelago. From a diverse collection of tropical plants and birds to unusual geology, Andros offers an abundance of options for the nature lover. Explore the ecology on a variety of nature trails or spend a day visiting sights such as Morgan's Bluff, the highest point on the island. Seek treasure in a cave or ponder the days of slavery while among the ruins of slave homes. Examine life in the small, remote settlement of Red Bays where basket-making and sponging remain the principle industry. There is much to see on Andros Island-- something new for each visit.
• Sea Kayaks: You may want to consider paddling one of our sea-kayaks through the gentle inland creeks that meet the sea at Kamalame's doorstep or test the ocean on our nearby shores. Quietly glide by shore birds, spot bonefish and experience the sea life that inhabits our shallow waters. It's a great way to see Andros Island's fascinating creatures. Guided sea-kayak trips that include lunch are easily arranged.
• Tennis: Kamalame has a regulation tennis court that overlooks the ocean, so bring your own racket or borrow one of ours to get some exercise and keep your swing in tune. If you need a playing partner, our chef happens to be a tennis instructor.
• Fishing: The ocean waters just minutes from Kamalame's dock offer some of the most productive fishing in The Bahamas. We are privileged to have two distinct fishing options. Climb aboard one of our guided flats boats to chase the elusive Bahamas bonefish through the shallow waters and flats that surround Kamalame, or try your luck on one of our deep sea boats and fish the world's third longest barrier reef for tuna, dolphin (mahi mahi), wahoo, barracuda, and shark. A day trip on the ocean is great family or group fun. Full or half day trips are available.

Food and beverage bills are charged to the room based on consumption and need to be paid for at the end of the stay. Guests on this plan still have all tghe same room & resort amenties as Guest of House.
Guests consuming daily cooked breakfats, wine tih multi-course lunch/dinners, poolside and after dinner drinks would achieve better value from Guest of House plan.

HELPFUL HINTS:

Guest can not swith meal plans while on island.

A 40% Deposit is due at time of booking. Deposit is non-refundable, as is the balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
CANCELLATIONS received within 35 days of arrival will result in a 100% penalty. No-shows require a full 100% payment. TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE 
is highly recommended.
Airport transfers are $70.00 per person round trip from Andros Town Airport and from San Andros Airport and additional $100.00 is charged per booking.
Increases in taxi fares are the sole responsability of the customer.
 

HURRICANE POLICY:  In the event of resort closure due to a hurricane, we will credit guests for a future stay, equal to th enumber of affected nights and on the same basis as originally planned, plus we will ofer an additional complimentray night on the rescheduled trip.

GUEST INFORMATION & LIABILITY FORM: All guests must complete and sign the guest inofrmation form whcih also carries a liability waiver. We regret that we are unable to accept any reserations from guests who are unwilling to complete this. The form should be faxed or e-mailed back to us at least 3 weeks prior to arrival to aneble the resort to meet any speical requirements.
